Exploring your publishing options
and wonder what they all mean?
Check out this brief description of how we are different from print-
In brief, we are an editorial and design service that helps you put together your entire book. You retain all rights to your project. Greater detail:
Editing
Many author services firms are not actually editorial services, as we are, but production houses. Their job is to produce books. What that means is that their editing may cover basic editing such as correcting spelling or punctuation, but may not cover development or content issues such as making sure the tone is right for your intended audience, transitions, style, or even book length. Our content edits provide editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation, structure, style, content, tone, transitions, and marketability.
In short: We provide a more substantial edit at a better rate.
Design
Many author services companies have you choose designs based on templates. This can make books look amateurish and easily identifiable as "home jobs." We provide professional design based on your book's content and market. We even provide multiple cover design options so you can choose which best speaks to your vision for your project.
In short: We provide customized design for your project so your book looks good.
Your books in bookstores and libraries
In addition, many of the popular author services firms that will come up in your
search promise bookstore distribution, but what they don't tell you is that this
does not mean bookstore placement. The main point to remember about print-
We get you competitive printer rates so you can order a large or small inventory so you can actually get books on shelves.
In short: Your books will have the potential to be on any bookstore shelf if we help you because we will design the book according to industry standards and help you place an order for an inventory of your choice so your books are free to be ordered and stocked by any bookstore that chooses.
Your book’s ISBN
Some author services companies require you to use an ISBN they assign your books. Remember, your book's ISBN is like its Social Security Number. That is how it is identified and ordered. The person who owns the ISBN is considered the publisher, so if the author services company owns the ISBN, then it will be your publisher, not you. With us, we purchase an ISBN for you, and you are the owner. So that means when people want to order books, they order through the avenues you have set and you get the money. The money does not come to us because the ISBN is identified under your name.
In short: With us, you own your ISBN.
Your profits
Many author services companies pay you a royalty for each book sold. With us, you get 100 percent of the profit from your book. We do not take any portion of your book sales. All you pay us is our fee for the editorial work included in the quote.
In short: We don't take your profits, so there is no royalty. You get 100 percent of the money from your book sales.
There are other differences as well, but these are a few of the important highlights.
We provide industry-
